Yellow marked area:
In this area the graph will be displayed.
Blue and Green marked area
To create a graph drag columns from the blue marked area and drop them in the green marked area. If you want to see the selected column as a column or X-axis value in the graph, then drop it in the column section of the green marked area. If you want to use it as a row or y-axis value then drop it in the row section. If you want to use it as a filter then drop it in the filter section. After dropping the columns in the green marked area, a default chart will be displayed. You can change and select another one from the brown marked area or you can also select from the orange marked area automatic option.
Orange marked area:
Tooltip:
To add a tooltip in the graph, drag the column name which you want as a tooltip from the blue marked area and
drop it in the tooltip option.
Detail:
To add and show details in the graph this option is used. To use it drag the column name and drop it in this
option. Suppose you have a bar chart. Now if you go to that chart and place the cursor on a bar, you will see
a tooltip and details value for that particular bar.
Label:
To add a label in the graph drag the column name which you want as a label from the blue marked area and drop
it in the label option.
Size:
To control the size of the graph use this option. After creating a graph you can control the graph size by
using this option.
Color:
Suppose you have total_bill as a column of the chart. Now if you drag the total_bill from the blue marked area
and drop it in this option then automatically the color of the graph will be changed. Now if you want to
change the color then click on the color option and go to the edit color option and there you will see another
option is automatic, go to that option. In this option some beautiful color themes are present. Choose that
which you want to use. You can also create a custom color. To do that check the other options.
After selecting column, chart row, column, tooltip, size, label, detail you get a drop-down menu beside each
column name that you have selected. In that drop-down menu, you will get a lot of options like format, sort,
remove, etc options.
format means change text color, size, alignment, font size, shading, change number type, change number format, add minimum, maximum, average line, etc in the graph .
Go to the drop-down menu of any selected column(in the image green marked area) used for creating the group. There click on format and then this dialog box will open. To close this box click on the red marked area. From the gray marked area, you can change the columns. For example, in the image, you have selected total_bill as a column, day as row, and sex as the label. So you can say that to create the graph you used total_bil, sex, and day column. Now if you click on the field(present in the gray marked area) then you will see these options there. Select that column that you want to edit. The formatting is very easy. Just play with these options. To format, the page use back marked area options. You also use a black marked area to format rows and columns.
Go to the drop-down menu of that column(present in the green marked area) by which you want to sort.
Then click on the sort and a dialog box will open. Then select the order and sort by and click ok.
You will get this option only in numerical columns which are used to create the chart. Look in the image there you can see in the green marked area sum is written beside only in numerical columns name. It means the column value of the graph is the sum value of the total_bill column. Now to change it into average, minimum, maximum, percentage, etc, go to the measure option drop-down menu and select one according to your need.
Aliases
You will get this option only in the categorical column used to create the chart. Go to the drop-down menu of the column and then click on aliases. After this, a dialog box will open. There you can edit the categorical values. In the image, you have the day column as a row. So by using aliases you can change the day names of edit day names. In the image, you used the sex column as the label. Using the aliases option you can also edit sex column values.
